Sacred Coeur is one of those Iconic places that you have to visit when you’re in Paris. Perched on a hill overlooking the rest of the Paris, the views are spectacular and well worth the climb. With windy roads and cobblestone lined pavements, you almost feel like you’re back in the early 1900s.
If you’re looking for something to see after Sacred Coeur, I’ve compiled a shortlist of things for you to visit as you slowly descend back down this beautiful part of Paris. Here are my Top 5 Unmissable places in Montmartre!
Le Mur de Je t’aime “Love Wall”
It actually took me over a year to discover this beautiful Wall with “I love you” written in over 300 languages 1000 times on this beautiful tile canvas. Frequently crowded any time of the day, people are usually pretty good about taking turns and letting people have their chance to capture a great shot. Weekday mornings are the best time to go as the park closes at 7pm.
Former coffee shop turned restaurant. This cute cafe was frequented by Picasso, Albert Camus, Suzanne Valadon and Maurice Utrillo in the early 1900s. Notorious for its baby pink facade, it’s the perfect place to capture a really great photo. And the food has a solid 4 star review on trip advisor. Bon appetit!
Guesthouse at Sacred Coeur Basilica
Probably one of the coolest things you could do in Montmartre, I never thought that I could stay overnight at Sacred Coeur. Checking in at 8:30pm, you will start Mass at 10pm and either stay up to pray or sleep after. Single dormitory rooms are available for rent or you could bring a sleeping bag. Continental breakfast is served on demand the next morning before you depart.
The second most famous cemetery in Paris, it is absolutely gorgeous and well situated at the bottom of Montmartre. Famous artists like Dalida, Fragonard, Gustav Moreau and Emile Zola are buried here. It is easy to get lost here but you can find some peace and solace as you walk through the narrow walkways through the tombs.
And of course, what post would be complete without a food recommendation. Located just 5 minutes from Sacred Coeur, this Australian coffee shop has the best all day brunch in the area. I have been to Paris innumerable amounts – however, my husband has never been which excites me greatly because well, that obviously means – he and I need to go back together 😉

Aww sorry to hear that. It could be a hit or miss depending on where you go and who you encounter. But one thing for sure is that it has beautiful architecture!

Paris can get summer hot in the summer but it makes up for all the rain we get in the winter. I’m trying to soak up as much sun I can get now!
